History and Milestones

Since our inception, Keong Hong has progressed over the years from a sub-contractor to an established D&B main contractor and property developer:

  • KH Construction commenced operations mainly as a sub-contractor in the construction business
1994 - 2000
  • Commenced work on a HDB development at Sengkang
  • Secured multi-million dollar projects comprising private sector projects with an aggregate contract value of more than S$336 million including 55-unit housing development of 3-storey terrace houses at Kismis Avenue and five phases of the same landed housing development at Sembawang Road and Jalan Ulu Seletar
  • Started construction of 638-unit Parc Vista and 694-unit Palm Gardens condominium development
2001 - 2007
  • Focused largely on construction of condominiums: completed the 53-unit Edgewater, the 167-unit Belvedere, the 147-unit Sunville
  • First company to introduce the environmentally friendly jack-in piling system for high rise condominium project which resulted in savings in foundation construction time and cost
  • Diversify business portfolio to include A&A works on retail buildings such as Tampines Mall Shopping Centre and commercial buildings such as factories and offices at Joo Koon Circle, Senoko Way, No. 2 Gul Avenue, Changi South Industrial Estate and fitting out works for Fuji Xerox
  • Engaged in reconstruction of Pasir Laba Army Camp and ventured into the construction of buildings in the healthcare industry such as Toa Payoh Nursing Home and Mount Alvernia extension
  • Completed first D&B project - the 51-unit The Linc condominium development
  • Continued expansion into commercial buildings and D&B condominium development. Projects include main building works for Sime Darby Performance Centre comprising a six-storey motor vehicle service centre and ancillary motor vehicle showroom offices and storage, the 400-unit The Esta, the 302-unit Martin Place Residences, the 248-unit Parvis, the 330-unit 8@Woodleigh and the 414-unit The Terrasse condominium developments
  • Expanded into hotel development by securing D&B 16-storey IBIS hotel project on Bencoolen Street
  • Completed project for Singapore Institute of Management utilising a "top-down" approach method of construction to save construction time and minimise disturbance to surround structures
  • Diversified into business opportunities outside of Singapore to construct a resort development at Falhumaafushi Island at Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Maldives
  • Entered into a joint venture for the development of a 728-unit executive condominium in Punggol
  • Listed on the Catalist Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (the "SGX-ST")
  • Construction of Kooddoo Airport in Maldives
  • Construction of Twin Waterfalls, a 728-unit executive condominium project jointly developed with Frasers Centrepoint Limited
  • Singapore SME 1000 Achievement Award for Achieving the Highest Sales Growth Crossing S$100 million
  • Upgraded to BCA A1 Grading under the category CW01 for general building
  • Construction of Alexandra Central, a 19-storey hotel mixed development by Chip Eng Seng Corporation Ltd
  • Construction of J Gateway, a 738-unit condominium development by MCL Land Limited
  • Entered into three lease agreements with the Government of the Republic of Maldives for the development and operation of (i) Kooddoo Domestic Airport; (ii) a tourist hotel; and (iii) a tourist resort
  • Awarded the joint tender by the Housing Development Board the land at Punggol Central/Edgedale Plains for an executive condominium project
  • Entered into a joint venture agreement with Master Contract Services Pte Ltd and JBE Holdings Limited for the development of an executive condominium project located at Punggol Central/Edgedale Plains
  • Launched SkyPark Residences, a 506-unit executive condominium project jointly developed with JBE Holdings Limited
  • Runner-Up of the 14th SIAS Investors' Choice Award for Most Transparent Company Award 2013 under the Catalist Category
  • Acquisition of land for hotel development at East Coast Road through joint tender
  • Acquisition of land for executive condominium development at Sembawang Venue through joint tender
  • Awarded S$118 million contract for construction of Amore Executive Condominium
  • Issued S$80 million bonus shares to our shareholders to reflect the growth and expansion of the Group's business, as well as to reward shareholders for their loyalty towards and support of our Group
  • Establishment of S$150 million Multi Currency Medium Term Note Programme
  • Awarded S$163.4 million contract for construction of Parc Life Executive Condominium
  • Awarded S$107.5 m contract by Raffles Medical Group for construction of Raffles Hospital's 20-storey medical building
  • Acquisition of 15.12 per cent interest in Kori Holdings Limited
  • Acquisition of our first commercial property in Osaka, Japan
  • Keong Hong moved into its new corporate headquarters at 9 Sungei Kadut Street 2
  • Acquisition of land parcel for residential condominium at Siglap Road through joint tender
  • The Group's joint venture mixed-use development project at the former Joo Chiat Police Station – Katong Square, Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong and Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong opened for business
  • Group CFO has been conferred the Best CFO Award at Singapore Corporate Awards for listed companies with less than S$300 million in market capitalisation
  • The Group achieved another corporate milestone with the successful transfer of its listing from Catalist to the Mainboard of the SGX-ST
  • SkyPark Residences obtained Temporary Occupation Permit ("TOP")
  • Acquisition of 30.6 per cent of the enlarged issued and paid-up share capital in Nuform System Asia Pte. Ltd., a supplier of metal formworks to the construction industry
  • Acquisition of 60.0 per cent of the entire issued and paid-up share capital of Hansin Timber Specialist and Trading Pte. Ltd., which is engaged in the supplies and installation of timber floorings and exterior timber decking, trellis and roofing for residential and commercial development projects in Singapore
  • Awarded our largest building construction contract of S$214.2 million for Seaside Residences condominium
  • Launched Seaside Residences, a joint development with Frasers Centrepoint Limited and Sekisui House Ltd.
  • Issued S$85.0 million 5.75 per cent Series 2 Notes maturing in 2021 and successfully redeemed all outstanding Series 1 Notes
  • Grand opening of Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Hotel and the expanded Kooddoo Airport in the Maldives
  • Acquisition of our second commercial property in Osaka, Japan
  • Acquisition of 49.0 per cent interest in an associated company in Vietnam to pursue property development opportunities
  • Raffles Hospital Extension obtained its TOP
  • Parc Life executive condominium obtained its TOP
  • Award of contract for the erection of a new 10-storey building for National Skin Centre and addition and alteration works to the existing 5-storey building for the National Healthcare Group
  • Award of a land parcel at Mattar Road for residential development. The Group holds a 35% interest in the joint venture company
  • Award of contract for the construction of a 266-unit residential development at Mattar Road)
  • Entered into an option to purchase two properties at Chin Bee Road for the assembly and fit out of our Prefabricated Bathroom Unit ("PBU") and Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction ("PPVC")
  • Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Hotel was conferred the Global Winner of the 2018 Luxury New Resort in The World Luxury Hotel Awards
